A University of Aberdeen Medical School's chief medical officer has told the BBC he believes the medical establishment should be able to give its men and women the right to use medical equipment and prescribe medicines such as Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs.
Dr Andrew Witty, head of the medical and health services division, said: "It is very important that we are able to provide safe, effective and safe treatment for this complex condition.”
Dr Witty is the medical director of the Royal Infirmary of Aberdeen, the country's largest private medical clinic.

Dr Witty added the clinic would be able to offer “more options to treat the condition and improve the quality of life for men”, and said men should be able to “consult with their GP, nurse or health professional first”. He added that the clinic would be a "pink self care" clinic, which had a "pink self care" programme and would "help men feel more confident about their health".

In an attempt to help those battling erectile dysfunction, the National Institutes of Health recently approved a new medication that is aimed at improving the symptoms of erectile dysfunction in men. The drug is called sildenafil citrate. Viagra, which has been sold in more than 80 countries, is the first of its kind and a treatment for erectile dysfunction.
